Schiavona 25 -- [SHARP]
Schiavona 25 -- [SHARP]
This Schiavona’s design is taken from one antique, while the dimensions are based on a different antique piece that Bill Grandy very generously lent me so that I could take measurements and make a pattern. Bill has a terrific writeup on his antique HERE, along with a ton of high quality photos.
The blade is a sharp double-edge broadsword blade by Armour Class of Scotland. It’s quite lean and flexible, like many period swords of this style.
The hilt is mild steel with a thumb ring. The carved grip is wrapped in rayskin and bound with brass wire. The pommel is cast in solid brass.
The hilt secures with a pommel nut threaded 6x1 mm.
Weight: 2.7 lbs
