Clemens Wopper Rapier 2 -- Cochiolo Blade [SHARP]
Clemens Wopper Rapier 2 -- Cochiolo Blade [SHARP]
This rapier is based on a piece by early 17th century German sword-maker Clemens Wopper which is on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The hilt is formed of delicate hexagonal bars with large twisted ball details on the quillions, finger rings and outer rings. The counterguard is an unusual style formed from intersecting loops. The pommel is partially hollow and features the same design motif. It secures with a 6mm pommel nut.
Both guard and pommel are laser sintered 316L Stainless steel, blackened to a dark finish with the ball details polished bright.
The sharp 36” blade by Nicholas Cochiolo has a broad base tapering to a very acute tip , providing both solid blade presence and excellent maneuverability. It’s forged from 80CRV2 steel.
The spiral carved grip is solid PETG wrapped in steel wire with turks head knots.
Overall weight is 2.5 lbs, and the POB is +3.75" in front of the quillions. The sword is 42" long overall.
