This Schiavona’s design is taken from one antique, while the dimensions are based on a different antique piece that Bill Grandy very generously lent me so that I could take measurements and make a pattern. Bill has a terrific writeup on his antique HERE, along with a ton of high quality photos.

This schiavona guard is produced in laser-sintered 316L stainless steel from a 3D scan of one of my own hand-built hilts. I’ve given it a dark antiqued finish. The pommel is solid brass, also with an antiqued finish.

It’s mounted with a double-fullered broadsword blade by Armour Class of Scotland. It’s quite lean and flexible, like many period swords of this style.

The spiral carved grip is solid PETG covered in maroon leather and bound with brass wire. The pommel secures with a 6mm pommel nut.
