This Schiavona’s design is taken from one antique, while the dimensions are based on a different antique piece that Bill Grandy very generously lent me so that I could take measurements and make a pattern. Bill has a terrific writeup on his antique HERE, along with a ton of high quality photos.

This schiavona guard is produced in laser-sintered 316L stainless steel from a 3D scan of one of my own hand-built hilts. The pommel is also stainless steel.

The spiral carved grip is solid PETG covered in black leather and bound with steel wire. The pommel secures with a 6mm pommel nut.

It’s mounted with a lean and well-ground sharp hussar-style saber blade of Chinese manufacture. The blade is high carbon steel, but I don’t know what kind.

The scabbard is leather over a wood core with steel fittings, also Chinese made.
