This was a custom commission. The customer wanted a rapier carrier and scabbard inspired by a particular period portrait to go with my Hermitage rapier.
The scabbard has a core of epoxy-impregnated fabric and is covered in leather with a blued steel chape. It is designed to fit a nail head blade, so it's a little roomier than might otherwise be appropriate.
The hanger is tooled black leather with gold painted border details. The hardware on the hanger is brass. It was my first attempt at this kind of all-over tooling, and I think it turned out pretty well.
