Scottish Basket Hilt 1

$0.00

My first go at Scottish Basket-Hilted Broadsword. This one is a bit of a combination of several specific hilts, so I hesitate to categorize it as a particular style or reconstruction. The grip is 4.25” long, which is on the longer side for basket hilts, but true to the antique pieces I was looking at while I built it.

The hilt is all steel with a PETG grip covered in gray rayskin and wound with 3 strands of brass wire, finished with a steel ferrule.

It’s mounted with a triple fullered custom blade from Fulvio Del Tin. It weighs 3.6 lbs with a 34.5” blade. The sword is 41” long overall and the POB is +3.5 above the guard.

The tang is threaded 6mm metric and secures with a pommel nut.

Weight: 3.6 lbs
Overall Length: 41”
Blade Length: 34.5”
POB: +3.5” from base of blade
