Diamond Pattern Scottish Basket Hilt 2 [SHARP]

$0.00

This sword is based on an antique piece c.1740.

The steel hilt has a somewhat unusual diamond pattern with each bar fullered and grooved. The grip is wrapped in ivory colored stingray skin and wound with twisted brass and steel wire.

The sharp blade is single edged with a sharp back edge and two fullers. It’s made by Armour Class, and only slightly modified by me to extend the fullers down through the ricasso area. It’s an incredibly nimble blade, and the foible is extremely thin—it’s the closest production blade i’ve encountered to the feel of many originals.

The hilt secures with a pommel nut threaded 6x1mm.

Weight: 3 lbs
Overall Length: 38.75”
Blade Length: 33.25
POB: +1.75” from base of blade

The scabbard is leather over a wood core with incised decorations and steel hardware.
