Stirling Basket Hilt 3 [SHARP]

$0.00

This sword is based on an antique piece c.1770 in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago

The faceplate of the hilt has long file-worked keyhole apertures and the side bars and wrist guards are shaped with undulating filework. The forward guards are filled with pierced plates. The grip is wrapped in natural green stingray skin with nickel silver ferrules and wound with steel wire.

The triple fullered blade is made by Fulvio Del Tin, but I’ve shortened it and narrowed the profile to create an easier-handling blade.

The hilt secures with a pommel nut threaded 6x1mm.

Weight: 3.5 lbs
Overall Length: 38”
Blade Length: 32”
POB: +3” from base of blade

The scabbard is antiqued brown leather over fiberglass core with a birch plywood liner. It has stainless steel and nickel silver fittings.
