This basket-hilted broadsword is of a type often called a Walloon. It has symmetrical pierced plates on each side of the guard, and additional hand protection in the form of curved side bars connecting the rings to the knucklebow.
This is a fairly roomy guard, so there should be room inside for a gauntlet or padded glove.
The guard and pommel are steel. The grip is solid PETG wrapped in brass and steel wire.
It's currently mounted with a 32" Hanwei blunt blade (the blade used on their “Practical Basket Hilt”) The whole sword weighs 3.35 lbs and the POB is about +4".
