~ STAGE COMBAT KNIVES ~
The knives in this section are mostly commercially available knives that I have modified to be suitable for stage combat.
I take the task of dulling a sharp knife very seriously. Typically I will grind back the edge until it is sufficiently wide to round over into a comfortable bull-nose shape. All contact edges are then given a high degree of finish to avoid abrasion and move smoothly over skin and fabric. I round tips to different radii depending on the shape and thickness of the blade. The goal is to create a point that won’t penetrate skin/clothing/etc. but that still looks sharp and dangerous at a distance. I also make sure any factory edges on hilt components, pommels and the backs of blades are softened for comfortable handling.
