Chain Hilt Sidesword [SHARP]

$2,500.00

This hilt design is taken from a lovely antique piece, although the original was gilded in gold and mine is bare steel. I’ve paired it with a very sharp and nimble sidesword blade from Kingston Arms to offset the lack of mass in the pommel, and the result is a very maneuverable sword.

The entire hilt (with the exception of the counterguard), is carved like interlinked chain. The pommel is keyed to the tang and secures with a pommel nut threaded 6x1mm. Grip is steel wire over solid PETG with steel turks head knots.

The sword is 41" overall with a 34.5" blade. It weighs 2.1 lbs and balances about 5" in front of the quillion block.

The scabbard (also from Kingston Arms) is leather over a fiberglass core with steel fittings. If you prefer a more historically correct scabbard form I can fabricate one from scratch.

If you like this hilt and are interested in having it mounted with a different blade, please contact me directly.
