This unusual piece is inspired by Curtana, Sword of Mercy, which is one of the swords used in British coronation ceremonies (and thus one of the Crown Jewels).
My version is quite large, more similar in size to one of the other coronation swords. It’s mounted on a modified blade from a Hanwei/Tinker Great Sword of War. The tip of the sword is sheared off to represent the concept of mercy.
The hilt is gold plated steel and the grip is bound in brass wire.
The scabbard fittings are gold plated brass to match the hilt. Theres a flame detail running down the scabbard which is done in heat-set metallic vinyl.
