Phoenix/Lotus Wedding Swords
Phoenix/Lotus Wedding Swords
This pair of swords was commissioned by a bride and groom to be worn as part of their wedding ceremony. They requested a phoenix and lotus motif joining the sword and scabbard, and individualized animal icons on the pommels. The cross-guards are shaped and etched to represent a fiery phoenix, while the lotus element is etched onto the scabbard fittings. The guard and scabbard fit together to merge the designs.
The groom’s sword is the slightly larger of the two (mounted with a Hanwei/Tinker blunt longsword blade) and is done in black and gold with blue resin surrounding the etched pommel detail of a dog.
The bride’s sword is white and gold with a purple background to the pommel. It is mounted with a Hanwei/Tinker blunt bastard blade.
Both swords have brass half-wire wraps and brass plated steel hilt components. The gold detailing on the leather grips is heat-applique vinyl. The scabbards are leather over wooden cores with etched brass fittings.
The bride’s sword is suspended from a white belt, while the grooms will be secured to an existing baldric.
Both swords secure with 6mm recessed hex nuts.
