This robust, undecorated Mortuary style hilt is mounted with a 32” Darkwood backsword blade. It makes for a sturdy HEMA trainer for Highland Broadsword or similar. The hilt is formed from 10 gauge (.135”) mild steel, and has been left almost full thickness throughout to withstand a lot of punishment. The blade/grip juncture is supported by a “quillion block” that reinforces the guard and maintains proper hilt alignment. The arms of the guard secure to the pommel with sturdy screws. The hilt is secured with a pommel nut (6mm metric). The grip is solid PETG covered in black rayskin-textured leather.
