This is more or less an original hilt design based on a sketch by the client, with lots of interpretation by me.
The hilt is steel with etched details, some of which are brass plated. The quillion tips are my first efforts at 3D Modelling/Printing. I designed and drew them, and then had them printed in Stainless Steel infused bronze. They are silver soldered onto the steel quillions.
The grips is carved wood covered in leather and wire.
The hilt is mounted on an Aluminum rapier blade by the late Jody Samson. It's 5/16" thick, and currently has no distal taper. The owner is going to have the blade reground for better handling.
