Frost Blade Rapier & Dagger [SHARP]
Frost Blade Rapier & Dagger [SHARP]
This elaborate rapier and dagger set was commissioned as a wedding gift to a gentleman from his lady. She and I collaborated on the design for a unique pair of ambidextrous blades inspired by weapons wielded by her husband’s Dungeons & Dragons character. She drew the art for the frost-inspired etching designs that adorn the hilts and blades.
The rapier hilt is somewhat reminiscent of a schiavona in its structure, but the aesthetics were inspired by an enameled sword hilt belonging to Christian II, Elector of Saxony. It’s mounted with a 35” custom sharp rapier blade made by Darkwood Armory. The dagger hilt is also ambidextrous and sports a 13” blade, also by Darkwood.
The hilts are steel with extensive etching. The details on the pommel, quillion block and blade are filled with blue epoxy resin.
The grips are PETG covered in blue leather and bound with wire. Both weapons secure with 6mm pommel nuts.
Each blade has a flexible-core scabbard covered in blue leather with etched nickel silver mounts. The rapier scabbard is attached to a belt clip which is also decorated with epoxy-filled etching.
