English Cup Hilt Rapier 1 [HEMA]
English Cup Hilt Rapier 1 [HEMA]
This rapier has a combination shell/cup/swept hilt of a type popular in England in the early 1600’s. The hilt is done in blued steel, and the sword has been made with interchangeable blades so it can serve as either a rapier or a sidesword—the sidesword blade is by Malleus Martialis and the rapier blade is by Castille Armory. Because of different tang needs, each blade has its own grip and pommel.
The grips are solid PETG bound with wire. The rapier pommel is threaded 6mm, while the sidesword is a more robust 8mm.
A brown leather scabbard with a flexible core has been supplied for the sidesword blade.
