Anton Schuch Rapier

$0.00

A replica of several matching weapons by Anton Schuch for the Saxon Trabantenleibgarde c.1600. One is detailed here: http://www.lennartviebahn.com/arms_armour/antiques/rapier_anton_schuch.html
Two other nearly identical swords are on display at the Walters Museum in Baltimore and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

My recreation is mounted with a  custom blade by Castille Armory suitable for HEMA.

The sword balances 2.25" in front of the hilt. Total weigh is 2.65 lbs, just a hair under the 2.7 of the original. The blade is 35 3/4" long, and the sword is 42" overall. The guard and pommel are blued steel. The grip is hardwood covered in leather and wire. The hilt is secured with a recessed allen nut.
