Hasselaar Rapier [BLUNT]
Hasselaar Rapier [BLUNT]
This rapier, scabbard and hanger were built based on a portrait of Kenau Simonsdr Hasselaar, a 16th century Dutch folk hero. The structure is simple, with a single side ring, knucklebow, and straight quillions. The hilt is plated in brass, and the grip is bound in brass wire. The scabbard is black leather over a flexible core with a bronze chape from Tod Cutler. The rapier hanger is made from brown leather with custom designed fittings in 3D-printed stainless steel with a brass brush plating. Several additional pommels were supplies, also plated in brass.
It is mounted with a 35” modified hanwei practice rapier blade intended for stage combat. The pommel is threaded 6x1mm.
