This 3-ring rapier hilt has quillions and decoration inspired by a schiavona I created for the same customer. The rings and quillions are carved with a simple decoration of lines and chevrons. It’s mounted with a wide, military-style sidesword blade. The blade is balanced by a large lobed pommel.
The pommel secures with a brass pommel nut threaded 6x1mm. The grip is stingray skin bound with brass wire over solid PETG.
The blade is a modified Hanwei/Tinker Bastard Sharp etched with imagery from Aubrey Beardsley’s Le Morte D’Arthur.
The sword is 41.5" overall with a 35.5" blade. It weighs 3.3 lbs and balances about 4.5" in front of the quillion block, exactly at the feet of the angel.
