English Hilt Rapier

This rapier is based on a 17th century English rapier in the Wallace Collection, A597. The blade isa Hanwei Practice Rapier Blade cut down to 36” with a reground ricasso . The sword is 42.25” overall and weighs 2 lbs 10oz.  It balances immediately in front of the hilt.  The hilt and pommel are blued steel with decorative etching. The etched designs are brush plated in brass. The grip is lexan wrapped in black and bronze colored wire with turk’s head knots.  The pommel is threaded 6mm metric. 

The scabbard is leather covered kydex reinforced with fiberglass, with a steel chape.
