This classy weapon was commissioned as a gift to celebrate the owner’s successful defense of her dissertation and receipt of her PhD.
The basic form of the rapier is a classic 3-ring design, but its been highly polished and plated in gold to kick things up several notches. We considered additional etched details, but ultimately decided that simplicity was the way to go. The grip is diamond carved PETG covered in red leather with silver wire and turks head knots. The ricasso is etched on each side with the owner’s initial, “K”.
It’s mounted with a modified 37” Hanwei practice rapier blade, fully sharpened.
