This hilt is based on a museum piece, although I simplified things and left off the minute etched detail and the pierced plate on the counterguard. The hilt is steel, the grip is oak covered in wire, and the turk's head knots are 3D printed stainless steel/bronze (neat!). The pommel is threaded 6x1mm metric.
The crossguard is 8" wide.
This hilt is on the smaller side....it's quite comfortable in my hand, but if you have huge hands it might not be a good fit for you.
The hilt is mounted with a Hanwei Practice Rapier Blade. The sword is 42" long, with a 36" blade.
I recently made a matching dagger for this rapier. It has a 12" fullered blade and weighs 1 lb. 17.5" overall, and balances at the quillion block.
