This axe is 22” long and exactly 3 lbs.  The head and haft are a sturdy steel alloy called 12L14, and the axe blade is mild steel with a thick 1/8” rounded edge. The axe head is both pinned and welded to the shaft for added security.  The steel choices make this a great axe for stage combat, but not for sharpening and cutting.  The 2” wide roundels at either end of the grip are welded to the hexagonal shaft.  The grip is leather over a spiral cord wrap.
