This was a fully commissioned package—sword, scabbard and baldric. The rapier’s ambidextrous two ring design and etching was inspired by Inigo Montoya’s sword from The Princess Bride, but with a very different surface finish. The etched designs are faux-gilded with fine bronze and aluminum powder to stand out on the blued finish of the steel.

The hilt is mild steel, made large to accommodate a bulky HEMA gauntlet. The spiral carved grip is PETG covered in red leather with twisted brass and steel wire and finished with brass ferrules.

It’s mounted with a 32” Castille Sidesword blade for HEMA combat. The pommel is direct threaded 8mm.

Overall weight is ?? lbs, and the POB is just in front of the hilt. The blade is 32” long.

The scabbard has a wood core covered in red veg tan leather, finished with steel fittings etched to match the hilt. The red leather baldric has 4 adjustable buckles in the frog section. The large shoulder buckle, strap keeper and tip are castings by Richard Lanni (Bucklecastings).

This sword was commissioned by an author based on a weapon from their just-published historical mystery novel. It features vine leaf etchings (created by the customer) on the quillion ends and pommel. The hilt is blued mild steel and the etchings are faux-gilded in rose gold. The grip is white leather over PETG with copper ferrules and copper wire binding. The blade is a Hanwei practice rapier blade for HEMA practice.

This is my fourth take on a magnificent 17th century English rapier hilt in the Wallace Collection, A597, with some details borrowed from A596. I've made a matching dagger to keep it company.

The rapier is mounted with a 38" sharp rapier blade by Darkwood Armory. It weighs 2.5 lbs. and balances 3.5" in front of the quillions. Overall length is 44". Though quite large, the pommel is partially hollow to reduce weight and keep the balance within acceptable parameters.

Those are the last set of pictures. A very nice look I think. I also made an etched purse frame to match the weapons. The customer completed the purse.]

This rapier is based on a 17th century English rapier in the Wallace Collection, A597. The blade isa Hanwei Practice Rapier Blade cut down to 36” with a reground ricasso . The sword is 42.25” overall and weighs 2 lbs 10oz.  It balances immediately in front of the hilt.  The hilt and pommel are blued steel with decorative etching. The etched designs are brush plated in brass. The grip is lexan wrapped in black and bronze colored wire with turk’s head knots.  The pommel is threaded 6mm metric. 

The scabbard is leather covered kydex reinforced with fiberglass, with a steel chape.

This rapier with was commissioned as a gift for presentation at an SCA Master of Defense elevation ceremony. Each side of the guard sports an etched panel gilded in brass. On one side is the owner’s coat of arms, and on the other is the 3 crossed blades of the SCA Order of Defense.

The hilt is blued steel.  The spiral carved is grip is red leather over PETG with brass ferrules. The pommel is threaded 6mm.

The guard of this rapier is loosely based on Wallace A600, but without a knucklebow. The steel hilt is blued, and the side rings are etched and faux-gilded with a decorative motif.

This sidesword features interlocked diamond engagement rings etched into the stacked side rings and the couples' initials etched onto the ricasso of the sharp flamberge blade (by Castille Armory). It has recurved pierced quillions and the wheel pommel features huge faceted glass cabochons for extra sparkle.

The guard and pommel are steel with a solid PETG grip wrapped in white leather and bound with brass wire and brass ferrules.

This sword was inspired by a number of Saxon-style rapiers and military swords. The relatively short blade is sometimes known as a “spada”. The ambidextrous 2-ring hilt is cold-blued steel. The pommel is etched with a blued lower half and a polished dome.

The grip is solid PETG with with black leather and nickel plated brass ferrules. The tang extends through the pommel and secures with a nut.

The hollow ground blade was made by Balefire Blades from thick 8mm stock. The blade was supplied “nearly sharp” and I put the edge on it.

The matching dagger has a 12” long fullered blade, and its hilt details match the rapier. Scabbard is leather over wood with steel and nickel silver fittings.

A customer asked me to do some modifications to their Albion Marozzo, and this is the result. I dismantled it (not an easy task....) and redid the tang and pommel to accept a pommel nut for a compression fit hilt. The pommel and quillion block were etched and faux-gilded with lions head designs, and then a new grip was made, wrapped in red rayskin and bound with brass wire.

This ambidextrous rapier has matching stacked rings on either side of the guard and an etched wheel pommel decoratated with the 3 crossing swords of the SCA Order Of Defense. The hilt is blued mild steel. The grip is solid PETG covered in white leather and bound with steel wire. The pommel secures with a recessed hex nut threaded 6x1mm.

An Espada De Conchas -- aka Shell Hilt rapier. This one has a guard of stainless steel with an elaborately etched shell plate and screwed and riveted hilt/plate connections. The sharp blade, scabbard and grip were all boosted from a vintage MRL Florentine Rapier.

This rapier and main gauche have matching etched decoration on the protective shell elements of their hilts. The hilts are mild steel. This rapier hilt is based on an English sword dated to the 1620’s. The roughly drawn faces etched into the original weapon’s shell were replaced with foliage in this interpretation.

The hilt weights 1.65 lbs. without a blade, which the commissioning customer planned to add himself.

Hilt and pommel are steel with decorative etching. The grip is spiral carved polycarbonate with a silver and brass wire wrap and brass turks head knots.  The pommel is keyed to the tang, and  is meant to be hot peened in place. 

This sword is inspired by Zorro’s sword from the film The Mask of Zorro with Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins, made by Tony Swatton. It’s mounted with a bunt 31” blade made from a Hanwei Practical Rapier blade.

A simple cup hilt design with maple leaf heraldry etching around the cup. The blade is a Castille Basic Rapier blade for HEMA. The grip is PETG wrapped in black leather and steel wire.

This dish hilt rapier with was commissioned as a wedding-day gift from the bride to her wife-to-be. The guard and pommel are etched with a rose theme, and the letter “A” adorns the central plaque on each side ring.

This sword is styled after later period transitional rapiers, with the details selected by the commissioner. It’s an ambidextrous design with excellent hand protection from both the cup and the double curly side-bars. The grip is solid PETG covered in brass and steel wire with brass ferrules.

It’s mounted with a 36.5” Hanwei practice rapier blade, fully sharpened. The ricasso is covered with decorative etching.

This light and fast sword is not quite a historical form, but in the stage combat world we call it a dish hilt. Not a swept hilt, but not a cup hilt….dish hilt! This is mounted with a musketeer epee blade for true old-Hollywood swashbuckling.

The guard sports fairly long recurved quillions that rotate away from the centerline of the guard and a shell etched with a simple motif. The wood grip is wrapped in brass and steel wire with brass ferrules.

The round pommel is threaded 6x1mm.

The rapier weighs 1.9 lbs and is 42" long overall. The blade is 34.5” long (in front of the dish), or 36” measured from the quillions. It balances right front of the dish hilt at the base of the blade.

A dish hilt rapier with counter-curved quillions and a wheel pommel. The dish and pommel are etched, and the arms of the guard are carved with roping.

This rapier was commissioned with the intent of replicating the heft and handling of an original period weapon. Working from the commissioners sketches as well as images of a few original weapons of similar proportions, I built this hilt around a lovely pair of matching sharp & blunt blades from Balefire Blades.

The blades are made from thick 8mm stock, and are 45” long with a deep fuller. The blunt blade has greater flexibility and a nail tip—the sharp is more rigid, and very nicely ground.

The customer requested a POB of about +5” from the crossguard based on examinations of similarly proportioned originals, which is just where we landed on the final weapon.

Mounted with the sharp blade, the weapon weighs 2.97 lbs and is 51” overall.

The guard, pommel and scabbard fittings are etched steel with some decorative bluing. The knucklebow attaches to the pommel with a small screw. For durability in HEMA bouting, the dish plate is welded to the guard.

The spiral carved grip is PETG covered in steel wire. The hilt is secured with a pommel nut threaded 8x1.25mm

The scabbard is made from laminated birch plywood covered in snakeskin.

This rapier is based on a film prop used by Madds Mikkelsen's Rochefort in the 2011 version of The Three Musketeers.  It's an ambidextrous design featuring an ornately etched plate and two sweeping side rings.  

The hilt is steel, and the etched plate is secured with steel screws and then welded in place. The spiral carved grip is ABS with a steel wire wrap and brass wire turk's head knots.  

This hilt is mounted with a custom Arms & Armor HEMA blunt mad from 6150 High Carbon Steel.   The A&A blunt is lovely and long with a flat cross section at the foible for extra flex.

The sword is 3.125 lbs, and the POB is about 4" in front of the guard. The sword is 51" long overall, with a 44" blade.

This is more or less an original hilt design based on a sketch by the client, with lots of interpretation by me.

The hilt is steel with etched details, some of which are brass plated. The quillion tips are my first efforts at 3D Modelling/Printing. I designed and drew them, and then had them printed in Stainless Steel infused bronze. They are silver soldered onto the steel quillions.

The grips is carved wood covered in leather and wire.

The hilt is mounted on an Aluminum rapier blade by the late Jody Samson. It's 5/16" thick, and currently has no distal taper. The owner is going to have the blade reground for better handling.

The SHARP blade is from a Cold Steel Shell Hilt rapier, and it's impressively light with deep hollow grinding and fullers. The scabbard core and fittings are from the same, although now recovered in red leather and with custom etched details added to the scabbard hardware.

This sword is in a hybrid form sometimes called a transitional rapier. Transitional rapiers were generally lighter and leaner than renaissance rapiers, but had not yet transformed into smallswords.

The hilt sports fairly short quillions and a double shell guard etched with lines and decorated with brass rivets. The spiral carved grip is wrapped in copper wire with brass accents. It is mounted with a slender 37" Hanwei Practice Rapier blade. It is also available with the sharp version of this blade.

The pommel is threaded 6x1mm.

This set of Fire & Water themed swords was commissioned for a 30th wedding anniversary. Congratulations!

The "Water" themed weapons are done in blue and silver and have wave-inspired details on the side rings and pommel, as well as watery knotwork details etched into the fullers.

The "Fire" set are red and gold with the rapier featuring phoenix-shaped plates on each side of the hilt. Both blades also sport an etched face on the ricasso.

The Water sidesword is mounted with a sharp Kingston Arms blade. The Phoenix sword has a sharp rapier blade by Darkwood Armory.

This pair of swords was commissioned for a wedding celebration.

The rapier has a 10 ring design with no rear quillion and a sharp blade by Nicholas Cochiolo. The grip is wrapped in steel and brass wire and the pommel is shaped like a crescent moon. The scabbard is leather over a wood core with a belt-clip suspension.

The falchion uses a Swordier messer blade with a dragon head pommel and curved guard etched with dragon scales. The grip is covered in purple rayskin. The scabbard is leather over a wood core with a belt-clip suspension.

This rapier has a symmetrical hilt with a dish guard in the shape of dragon wings above a pair of swept bars on each side.

Commissioned to celebrate a university graduation, this rapier features a fantasy swept hilt and teardrop amethyst cabochons set into the pommel.

The grip is covered in purple rayskin and bound with steel wire.

This pair of rapiers was commissioned for a wedding celebration.

The groom’s sword has a guard based on a piece by early 17th century German sword-maker Clemens Wopper which is on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I’ve made more direct replicas, but here I’ve converted the design from a 2-ring hilt with a counterguard to a symmetrical 3-ring hilt with both front and rear quillions. Unlike the original sword, this piece has a pommel in the shape of a tulip poplar leaf.

The bride’s sword is a transitional hilt with swept bars on each side and a dish in the shape of a loosestrife flower.

Both swords have spiral carved grips covered in leather and bound with wire, as well as matching etching on the blades.

The tulip-poplar sword has is mounted with a modified version of Hanwei’s wider blunt rapier blade. The Loosetrife sword has the narrower hanwe rapier blade, also blunt.

Both have leather scabbards with white brass fittings.

These swords were commissioned for a wedding celebration.

The rapier hilt is brass-plated steel with a selection of small garnets set in bezels amongst the interwoven elements of the guard.

The guard is ambidextrous and features stones on both sides. The gip is covered in red leather bound with brass wire with brass ferrules. The original version of this rose shaped pommel was modeled by Nora L.

The blade is by Nicholas Cochiolo. The scabbard has a wood core covered in dark red leather with brass hardware.

The bastard sword features a Jody Samson-designed leaf blade from Albion Swords with steel fittings.

A pair of wedding swords —the longsword carries a fox themed design in black and gold while the basket hilted sword has a thorn and raven theme in black and purple. Each sword has a wood-core scabbard with contrasting belt leather.

The longsword is mounted with a Hanwei/Tinker sharp longsword blade with faux-gilded etching. The basket hilt blade is a custom job by Nicholas Cochiolo.

The longsword hilt fittings are blued laser-sintered stainless steel with faux-gilded detail work. The basket hilt guard is mild steel with a blued finish and blue leather basket liner.

This rapier was commissioned as a gift to to commemorate an engagement. The engagement date is etched on the ricasso. The hilt is symmetrical with two stacked rings on each side. The pommel, side rings, quillions and the end of the knucklebow are decorated with panels of vine-detailng.

The rapier was commissioned to celebrate the graduation of it’s new owner. The decoration is inspired by the owner’s SCA heraldry. The guard has some Parrot feather flourishes on the ends of the quillions and knucklebow, and the pommel is set with a brass moon in each face. This pair of swords was commissioned for a wedding celebration. The longsword has a phoenix theme and red enameled details while the smallsword/rapier has a dragon theme. The smallsword has a modified Kingston Arms rapier blade shortened to 30” and a leather scabbard with brass fittings.

This pair of sword was commissioned by the worlds best older brother as a wedding gift to his younger brother and his future sister-in-law. The happy couple are both “lifelong D&D and fantasy geeks”, so what better wedding present than a pair of swords inspired by the weapons their D&D characters carried through many adventures together.

The rapier has a hilt of brass-plated steel with green leather lace on the grip. The blade is intended to look as though it was broken and reforged with some magical assistance. The gold repair work is done with faux-gilded etching.

The short-saber was inspired by a magical weapon imbued with lightning. The blade is black anodized and the lightning design is deeply etched and faux gilded in silver.

This sword was commissioned by a couple to celebrate their wedding. It has a half-basket hilt and pommel of brass electroplated stainless steel. The 7075-T6 aluminum blade has decorative etching filled with colored epoxy resin. The pommel is etched with the wedding date, and epoxy-filled to match the blade. The scabbard is black leather with a flexible core.

This pair of swords was commissioned by the bride and groom to exchange at their wedding. They met playing Dungeons & Dragons during covid, and so their swords feature an etched D-20 design as well as their wedding date.

The bride’s rapier has a brass plated steel hilt with faux-gilded etching on the blade. The grip is covered in white leather and bound with brass wire. The flex-core scabbard is covered in white leather with a green belt rig. The blunt blade is by Castille Armory.

The groom’s broadsword is Lord of The Rings inspired, with brass plated steel hilt fittings and a green leather grip with a wire binding on the lower half. The blade is a blunted Hanwei Tinker longsword. It has a leather covered wood-core scabbard and belt rig.

This hilt design combines one of my fantasy hilt designs with a pierced shell guard (also sporting a viney theme). The overall form is similar to later period transitional rapiers that add a solid shell or dish guard to a rapier hilt for added protection. This piece was a wedding commission, and features faux gilded etching on the blade.

This pair of swords was commissioned by an engaged couple to exchange at their wedding. I worked secretly with each of them on the design of the sword for their partner

The bride’s rapier has a rose gold plated steel hilt with a white leather grip, nickel silver ferrules and rose gold wire binding. It’s mounted with a sharp Hanwei rapier blade and has a pink leather scabbard and white belt rig.

The groom’s sidesword features a silver and green motif with brass accents on the grip. The blade is a Kingston Arms sidesword blade. The scabbard is suspended from a belt clip hanger.

This set of weapons was commissioned by a husband as a surprise for his wife. Each rapier and dagger pair has a unique aesthetic, but both incorporate a brass crescent moon and natural abalone shell disks. The designs for these weapons were a collaboration between the commissioner and myself, and they proved an interesting challenge.

The “Raven” sword has a pommel of brass plated stainless steel raven skulls covered in minute sigils. The raven skull models were created by another artist, and I adapted them into this pommel format. They sit on a base of blackened stainless steel and the hilt secures with a hex nut between the skulls.

The guard is blackened stainless steel with a disk of abalone shell encircled by a brass crescent moon. The grip is wrapped in a dark teal leather lace. The sharp 36” blade is by Nicholas Cochiolo. It is etched and faux gilded with a design supplied by the customer. The scabbard is snakeskin-print leather over a wood core with a brass chape. The companion dagger has a sharp steel blade and blackened guard and brass plated steel pommel.

The “Leaf” sword features an etched brass leaf suspended in the vine-like arms of the hilt. It has a carved PETG grip covered in red leather. The pommel is stainless steel with an inset brass crescent moon and a small disk of abalone on each side. The etched and faux-gilded blade on this sword is blunt aluminum, and the sheath is heavy leather with white brass fittings. The companion dagger has a sharp steel blade and steel fittings.

This set of wedding swords shares a Sun/Moon theme— the rapier pommel has a silvery Moon contained inside the Sun, while the longsword pommel shows a golden Sun inside the Moon. The hits share a similar sinuous aesthetic. Each sword is complete with scabbard and belt. The longsword scabbard/belt rig is by Windlass Steelcrafts.

A set of matching wedding swords with half-basket hilts in a vine theme. Each sword sports a blunted blade, black scabbard, and red suspension belt. A transitional rapier hilt with some fantasy flair, commissioned by a couple for their wedding celebration. The shallow dish guard and pommel are etched with a floral detail, while the center cartouches on the side rings carry images important to the couple. The hilt is brass plated steel.

This pair of rapier & daggers were commissioned by a couple for their wedding, which will feature a choreographed duel. Each set is unique to its owner--one features more organic leaf and vine shapes, while the other is more austere and geometric--but both share the same star iconography along with a simple black and silver color palette.

The lovely rapier blades were made by Castille Armory and feature blunt edges for stage combat, as do the daggers.

The scabbards have nickel silver fittings and belt-clip suspensions.

This pair of swords was commissioned by an engaged couple to celebrate their wedding. The rapier bears a solar theme, with a radiant sun adorning the outside of the brass plated hilt and red leather on the grip and scabbard. The sidesword has a lunar theme with a deeply etched crescent moon pommel and the moon's phases etched along the blade. The polished steel finish, blue grip and black scabbard strike a strong contrast with it's other half.

This elegant pair of swords was commissioned by a couple and share many complimentary design elements. For him, a bastard sword with a complex double-ring guard, mid-grip spacer ring, and pommel with brass overlays. For her, a swept hilt rapier with a fishtail pommel, all plated in brass.

Both swords share the same purple leather for their grips and scabbards, and blades decorated with faux-gilded etching. Both are mounted with custom sharp blades by Castille Armory.

This rapier was commissioned for a wedding celebration and features a swept hilt of vines decorated with 6mm faceted alexandrite cabochons that mirror the bride’s engagement ring. The couple each selected iconography for one side of the pommel.

A pair of swords commissioned for a wedding ceremony. Each weapon is unique, but they share a gold and purple color palette. Both are mounted with blunt aluminum blades and have brass-plated steel hilt furniture. The grips are PETG covered in leather.

This rapier was commissioned as a graduation present for a PhD candidate in Hydrology. Blue resin rivers run from faux-gilded mountains etched on the pommel, and a deeply etched watercourse runs down the blade. The hilt is steel, the blade is 7075-T6 aluminum. The grip is covered in black stingray skin with steel ferrules. The package is completed with a flex-core scabbard covered in black leather suspended from an etched and resin-filled belt clip.

This alehouse-style dagger was commissioned as part of a marriage proposal. The velvet basket liner conceals a hidden compartment where the engagement ring is secured. The dagger itself was given as gift, with the discovery of the hidden ring to follow. The black steel, green velvet and silver details of the etching, pommel screw and pommel nut were chosen to match the design of the engagement ring which was made in black gold with a large emerald and several small diamonds.

The dagger guard is based on an antique design featuring a love-knot pattern (which seemed appropriate) and a side ring filled with a pierced plate. The bars of the basket are decorated with etched details picked out in silver colored faux-gilding. The grip is black leather over PETG bound with steel wire. The basket liner/ring pouch is green velvet and attaches to a leather tab at one end of the grip and ties to the guard with green satin ribbon at the other.

The 12” blade is made of damascus steel, though I do not know what kind.

The scabbard is black leather over a flexible core with nickel silver and steel fittings.

This basket-hilted backsword features etched linework across all the elements of the basket, and diamond panels decorated with Clan Lamont’s crest. The whole hilt is plated in silver. The grip is covered in black rayskin with nickel silver ferrules.

The Lamont basket is mounted with a Napoleonic-era antique single-edged blade that came off an antique cavalry saber. It is extremely thick at the shoulder (almost 1/2”), but has two deep fullers that run the whole length of the blade (the tip may have been modified at some point). Combined with extensive distal taper, it is an extremely maneuverable and clearly dangerous blade. Not lightweight, but with outstanding mass distribution.

The spine is engraved with the text “Imp Du Chatteralt” (imperial made) which has been partially ground off due to the fall of the empire under Napoleon III and the formation of another republic.

This sword is based on an antique original that features the Clan MacTavish crest on both sides of the unusually designed basket. A member of Clan Donnachaidh saw my re-creation of that sword and requested a similar weapon featuring the Donnachaidh crest. Each face is etched with a hand holding aloft a crown surrounded by a circular garter element with the clan motto VIRTUTIS GLORIA MERCES (glory is the reward for valor).

My version is mounted with an extremely nimble two-fullered backsword blade from Armour Class. This blade is very thin in the foible, much like many original blades.

The steel hilt is electroplated in brass and lined with a red wool basket liner. The carved grip is wrapped in red stingray skin and brass wire with scalloped brass ferrules. The pommel is threaded 3/8-16.

A highly decorated smallsword commissioned to celebrate the completion of a PhD in Astrophysics. It is mounted with a 32” epee blade for HEMA practice. This sword was inspired by Jacob Kell’s sword from the film Highlander: Endgame, created by Tony Swatton. The film sword is sometimes a single handed sword and sometimes a two handed sword, depending on the scene. This is sort of an in-between interpretation, with room for two hands on the grip but still easily wielded with one hand.

The rain guard is etched “In Hoc Signo Vinces”—"In this sign thou shalt conquer"

This pair of swords was commissioned for a wedding celebration.

The falchion uses a Swordier messer blade with a dragon head pommel and curved guard etched with dragon scales. The grip is covered in purple rayskin. The scabbard is leather over a wood core with a belt-clip suspension.

The rapier has a 10 ring design with no rear quillion and a sharp blade by Nicholas Cochiolo. The grip is wrapped in steel and brass wire and the pommel is shaped like a crescent moon. The scabbard is leather over a wood core with a belt-clip suspension.

This sword was commissioned as a wedding gift for the bride from the groom, to celebrate her Scots-Irish heritage.

The strongly flared and curled quillions with quatrefoil piercings on this guard are based on Irish archeological finds. This style of ring pommel is also typically associated with Irish swords.

It’s mounted with the blade from Hanwei’s Scottish Single Handed Sword, which is narrow, lightweight and very sharp. The blade is etched with a faux-gilded Celtic love knot.

This sword was commissioned as a wedding cake-cutting sword. The guard is cast brass and the steel pommel is deeply etched with Celtic knotwork and electroplated to match. This piece was commissioned for a wedding ceremony where swords were exchanged instead of rings. The guard is steel wound with brass vines and set with a pair of white opal cabochons. The pommel is brass-plated steel, and the grip is white leather over PETG bound with brass wire and brass ferrules.

The blunt hollow-ground steel blade was made by Castille Armory and is etched with a faux-gilded vine pattern.

The scabbard is leather over a wood core with brass fittings.

This sword was commissioned for a wedding proposal. The etched and faux-gilded crossguard features a quote from Dante Alighieri’s Paradiso, "L'AMOR CHE MOUVE IL SOLE E L'ALTRE STELLE” which translates to “The love that moves the sun and the other stars.” The center recess of the pommel is also deeply etched and gilded.

The sharp hollow-ground blade is from a Kingston Arms Crecy, as is the wood core of the scabbard. Both scabbard and grip have been detailed with risers and covered with dark red-brown leather.

The customer who commissioned this single handed stage combat broadsword likes things "a little extra" (their words), and here at Jesse Belsky Stageswords we aim to please! The sword features brass-plated steel furniture, a faux gilded unicorn etched into the fuller, and of course a pebbled rainbow leather grip.

The namesake motto is etched onto the blade and faux-gilded in gold. The Castille Armory aluminum grip is wrapped in black and orange paracord.

This short saber was inspired by the weapon Supergirl wields in the Woman of Tomorrow comics. The blade is 7075-T6 aluminum. The guard and pommel are laser sintered 316L Stainless Steel. The grip is black leather over PETG.

This pair of sword was commissioned by the worlds best older brother as a wedding gift to his younger brother and his future sister-in-law. The happy couple are both “lifelong D&D and fantasy geeks”, so what better wedding present than a pair of swords inspired by the weapons their D&D characters carried through many adventures together.

The rapier has a hilt of brass-plated steel, with green leather lace on the grip. The blade is intended to look as though it was broken and reforged with some magical assistance. The gold repair work is done with faux-gilded etching.

The short-saber was inspired by a magical weapon imbued with lightning. The blade is black anodized and the lightning design is deeply etched and faux gilded in silver.

These weapons are made with blunt 7075-T6 aluminum blades.

The designs for this pair of swords were inspired by Rellana’s Twin Swords from the Elden Rings video games. They were commissioned by a bride and groom to exchange on their wedding day. The blade of each sword is deeply etched with a bible verse on one side and a wedding vow on the other.

The etched text on the blue-handled sword runs opposite to the usual direction because the swords will be mounted and displayed pointing in opposite directions.

Both swords are made with laser-sintered stainless steel hilt fittings and 7075-T6 aluminum blades. The grips are solid PETG covered in leather. Both swords share the couple’s personal sigil. On the red sword it is faux-gilded in gold, while on the blue sword it’s picked out with blue epoxy resin (to match other details).

Black scabbards and suspension belts complete the set.

This elegant short saber was commissioned by a couple for their wedding—they requested a LOTR inspired piece with an Elven feel and a celestial Solar/Lunar theme. I’ve incorporated both sun and moon into the pommel, while the organic curves of the blade and the guard provide an elven feel. The aluminum blade is etched with a faux-gilded vine detail that incorporates their initials and wedding date. The PETG grip is covered in blue leather bound with brass wire and brass ferrules.

The sword was commissioned as an engagement token. The design was intended to evoke a Peter Pan-esque quality for a piratical character--short bladed and nimble with a fantasy flair.

The hilt is brass plated steel, etched with floral designs and featuring two faceted red stones on the guard plate. The grip is black leather over PETG, wound with brass wire.

This single handed sword has a 1/4" thick 7075-T6 Aluminum blade.  The blade is fullered and has a full diamond grind resulting in an extremely light and fast sword that stops on a dime.  The guard and pommel are steel and the grip is PETG wrapped with blue leather. This rapier was commissioned as a graduation present for a PhD candidate in Hydrology. Blue resin rivers run from faux-gilded mountains etched on the pommel, and a deeply etched watercourse runs down the blade. The hilt is steel, the blade is 7075-T6 aluminum. The grip is covered in black stingray skin with steel ferrules. The package is completed with a flex-core scabbard covered in black leather suspended from an etched and resin-filled belt clip.

This rapier is a variation on a fantasy rapier I designed in collaboration with a previous customer.

The hilt is an ambidextrous design with a looping vine rings on each side. The grip is carved PETG covered in dark blue leather. The blunt aluminum blade is etched with a faux-gilded vine motif on both sides. The hilt secures with a 6mm pommel nut.

This sword was commissioned as an engagement token instead of a ring. It has an elaborately etched and pierced 7075-T6 aluminum blade and a satin brass-plated steel hilt with upcurving claw elements. A piece of dyed shell decorated each face of the pommel. The grip is solid petg wrapped in black leather and bound with brass wire. The pommel secures with a recessed hex nut.

This big sword sports a 38” blade made from 7075-T6 aluminum. The blade is in the style of some Danish two-handers, with a ricasso section at the base of the blade. The guard and ring pommel are brass-plated steel. The guard itself is modified from a Mike Jia casting.

The upper grip is leather over solid PETG bound with wire and studded with brass tacks. The lower grip is steel with faux-gilded etching. The grip rings are solid brass with roped carving. The hilt secures with a steel pommel nut.

This sword was commissioned by the groom to wear at his wedding. The design was created from an initial concept sketch he provided, and after a good bit of development, this is the result. The guard has a bit of a Warhammer 40k inspiration, but the winged guard features a custom monogram. The guard and pommel are brass. The grip is solid PETG wrapped in embossed brown leather.

A parrying dagger made to match my D’Artnagnan rapier. The hilt is brass-plated steel.

This parrying dagger was designed to match a rapier inspired by the swords in Disney’s The Three Musketeers. It’s mounted with a 14” Darkwood blade for HEMA.

This pair of weapons was commissioned for a wedding celebration. The sword features a shell guard with a pierced and carved design created by the commissioner. Both weapons have green leather grips with decorative ferrules bound with brass wire. The sword has a sharp blade created from a re-ground Hanwei Practical Mortuary blade. This spadroon was inspired by the sword Elena (Catherine Zeta Jones) fights with in the movie The Mask of Zorro. It’s not an exact replica and has some different details than the film sword.

The blade is from a Hanwei Practical Mortuary sword, and is fairly stiff with a bit of flex. It would also be suitable for Stage Combat.

This pair of cutlasses were commissioned for a wedding ceremony and are etched so they can be hung in display with the motto “Til The End Of Our Horizons” on their crossed blades. The blades themselves are steel wallhanger blades.

This cutlass was commissioned as a gift to celebrate the artistic accomplishments of the receiver. It’s etched with the name of her production company and some of their recent projects, with room left to add more project titles in the future.

This sword is mounted with a blunt Indian-made blade with a redone tang. The guard is etched brass. The grip is paduak wood with a brass pommel cap. The heavy leather scabbard (also Indian-made) has nickel plated brass fittings.

These swords were commissioned as engagement gifts to be exchanged by the couple. Each cutlass sports one of their initials etched on a steel plate riveted to the front of the guard.

The hilts are from Cold Steel Backswords, and the blades are from Hanwei Revolutionary hangers. I combined the hilts and blades to create these basket hilted cutlasses.
